Pillar Series

The Pillar Series began in the late eighties with paintings that contain two vertical forms or pillars. Eventually, the works came to include multiple vertical elements. In all cases, a dynamic relationship was established between the formal structure of repeated stripes and the exuberant painterly gestures.
